NEX-5N Low Light Footage and Touchscreen Demo

Here's a couple of videos from jpac83 showing NEX-5N footage at 1080p and 24 frames per second. The video above shows footage at ISOs from 100 to 3200 to demonstrate the NEX-5N's low light capability. The video below was shot at 24 frames per second for that cinematic feel. The NEX-5N is the first NEX camera that allows for 24 fps video.

Sony NEX SLR Magic Noktor 50mm Lens

Here is the SLR Magic x Noktor HyperPrime 50mm F0.95 for the Sony NEX E-mounhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gift. That is correct the maximum aperture is 0.95 similar to that of the very rare Leica 50mm Noctilux-M priced at $10,495. The Noktor is priced at $1000 which is very close to the Voigtlander 50mm f/1.1 Nokton. This fully manual lens, with an FOV of 75mm on the NEX, will allow plenty of light onto the sensor for low light shooting.

We are waiting for sample photos to see how this lens from the new Noktor company performs, recently acquired by SLR Magic.

Take a ride with the Sony NEX-5

OneBikeGuy takes us around on his bike via the Sony NEX-5 and the 16mm f/2.8 lens. The video looks great even with the low light from the streets of Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.

Sony NEX-5 Sensor Beats Canon 7d - DxOMark

DxOMark tested the Sony NEX-5 and NEX-3 and found both to be more than capable. DxOMark found that the sensors showed excellent color depth, dynamic range, and low-light ISO performance. The NEX-5 topped the Canon EOS 7d dslr (by a slight margin), Olympus PEN E-P2, Panasonic Lumix GH1, and the Sony Alpha 450.
